4 out of 5 stars Marcy Recom Bike   February 28, 2010
James A. Hertel (Oakland,NJ)
Nice bike, easy to put together, less that 1 hour by myself. Got from Amazon for $127.00 with free shipping, price up a little now. This is a very BASIC bike. My last one was an upright which was much less comfortable but had a lot more "bells & wistles" eg. diff programs with varying degrees of difficultly. My only complaint, the knob to adjust tention goes from 1-8. I have to leave it on 8 all the time as lower setting are too easy. Even at setting 8 I have to peddle pretty fast to get heart rate up. Since my main focus is for cardiovascular effect its fine. If you are looking for a very strenuous workout or fancy programs, look to spend more on a different bike.

5 out of 5 stars Great low priced bike   February 26, 2010

Been looking for an recumbent bike to use while watching TV. I have purchased those stand alone pedal machines but they don't do the job (bad resistance and gets really hot). This Marcy bike works great! Very quiet, doesn't get hot, and is comfortable. Digital display is not the best, but it will give you the important parts of your exersize (distance, calories, speed, time). This machine also has wheels in the front for easy move.

4 out of 5 stars Pleased with purchase   February 11, 2010

I was a bit wary of assembling my purchase by myself; however, after a false start and only a couple of body contortions, I was able to assemble the bike by myself with the tools provided. The bike is sturdy, quiet and doesn't take up a lot of space in my apartment. The reason I didn't rate this product 5 stars is because of the absence of clearly written directions and the fact that I would have a serious complaint if I were shorter (I'm 5'3") since I probably wouldn't be able to reach the pedals-I have the seat pushed as far forward as the base allows and still would like to push the seat closer. It would be better if it was able to be adjusted for below average height females. I don't have the tools necessary to drill holes in the metal base and would worry about the stability of the base if I had to do that, anyway. Depite these small issues, I would recommend this bike as worth the price.

5 out of 5 stars Good Cardio Workout   February 9, 2010

I purchased this for nightly cardio workouts when the weather doesn't permit getting out with the jogging stroller, I didn't want to shell out a lot of money and this meets my needs. It was easy to assemble by myself and took about an hour. It's very quiet and one can watch TV while working out quite easily. It provides a good cardio workout but the resistance is not sufficient for muscle toning if you're in decent shape. I'm 5'1" and it works fine for me when adjusted to the shortest length.
