You have a bad back? Now you have no more excuses not to exercise! Warranty Frame & Brake: Lifetime Parts & Electronics: 3 Years Labor: 1 Year

Amazon.com Product Description
Sit in the lap of luxury while riding your way to fitness with the Diamondback 900Sr recumbent exercise bike. The 900Sr--which includes many of the most sought-after features on the market--is equipped with an efficient eddy current brake system that provides up to 16 levels of resistance. As a result, it's easy to find the perfect resistance level for your needs, whether you want to warm up before hitting the weights or challenge yourself with a serious cardio burn. The ergonomic seat, meanwhile, teams with an adjustable mesh seatback with lumbar support to create whole new levels of stability and comfort. Add in the easygoing step-thru frame, which is ideal for people who are rehabbing from injury or who find traditional upright bikes uncomfortable, and you have a terrific workout accessory for the home.

The 900Sr's integrated console helps track your workout progress.

The bike includes a mesh seatback with lumbar support.

The 900Sr offers plenty of workout flexibility, with an easy-to-read console that supports several different program types, including manual, random, fat-burning intervals, glute max hill climb, fitness test, strength, target heart rate, heart rate intervals, and custom trainer. The latter program is particularly valuable over the long term, as it lets you vary your workout depending on your mood. This not only keeps your attitude fresh, but it also makes your overall training regimen more efficient by challenging your body in different ways. It's also a breeze to track your workout progress thanks to the blue backlit LCD, which displays your time, pulse, calories, intensity level, RPM, speed, distance, and watts. And no workout is complete without a little motivational music, with is why the 900Sr comes with a plug-in jack for your MP3 player. Once you're plugged in, you can listen to your favorite playlists and tune out the rest of the world as you cycle through the imaginary hillsides.

Other features include contact pulse sensors in the handgrips for reading your heart rate, a Polar-compatible wireless heart rate receiver, an accessory holder on the console for magazines or books, a built-in Smart Fan, and a weight capacity of 300 pounds. The 900Sr measures 62 by 43.3 by 27.5 inches (W x H x D), weighs 126 pounds, and carries the following warranties: limited lifetime on the frame and brake, three years on parts and electronics, and one year on labor.

1 out of 5 stars No customer support from Diamondback   February 21, 2010

Reading reviews gave me a decent idea about satisfaction ratings with various exercise bikes, so I had felt confident in buying on-line. Amazon's free shipping was also tempting. However, this bike is a major piece of equipment and very heavy. It was not packaged particularly well, and a couple of the plastic pieces were cracked (the rear stabilizer bar and the casing at the front of the bike). As the other reviewer stated, Diamondback simply does not respond to its customers. I contacted them several times through the only means they allow--an on-line form. They never responded. The bike is decent, but I have little confidence that I would be able to fix any problems I may run into since Diamondback is so unresponsive.

1 out of 5 stars When It Works It's Great   February 15, 2010

This bike gives a smooth quiet ride when it works. I ride for one hour a day, and 2 or 3 times each hour I get an E-1 error code. I have to stop, unplug the bike, wait 5 minutes, plug back in and start all over. There are no dealers in my area for service, and I am 15 days past return date. I would not purchase unless you have a dealer in your area for service.

This is unfortunate because when it works it is the best bike I have owned.

1 out of 5 stars Diamondback 900sr   January 30, 2010
David Larsen (Saugus, CA)
Please check photo ads with someone riding this bike. As you will see there knees are right next to the handle bars. Wish I would have seen this before I bought. VERY difficult to get a correct seat position without your knees hitting or almost hitting the handle bars(if you are taller than about 5'8" no problem though). There is no need for the handle bars in that they are in an awkward location and no one could use them anyway. Bike is smooth and solid other than that but just this one big engineering flaw makes the 900sr a one star instead of four or five.

4 out of 5 stars Well-built, well-designed machine   January 21, 2010

I selected this type of machine because of my bad knees, which prevented me from vigorous walking. My wife had a bad back which also limited her walking abilities. We surmised that a reccumbent bike exerciser might be the answer for both of us. A health magazine recommended the Diamondback 900SR, so we searched for it. None of the local dealers for Diamondback carried the machine in stock, nor could they order it. They all said that they would have to buy them by the container load, and they couldn't carry that many in stock. If this is correct, the manufacturer may want to address this problem. We were reluctant to order a machine we had not tried, but did so anyway, as there was no way to try the product. I called the company and asked if the warranty would be valid for self-sassembly, since I had no way to buy through a dealer. The agent told me that it would be valid, that the policy which was stated in the owner's manual had been changed. When I got my machine, however, the old warranty policy was still stated. This is something else the manufacturer should address. The assembly was straight-forward, and the instructions were clear. No parts were missing, and everything worked. The machine is comfortable and a dream to use. The big seat is very comfortable, and the lumbar support in the back made it possible for my wife to use as well. We are well satisfied with the product, and rate its most important mechanical qualities as excellent. I would give it five stars, except the seat creaks a bit in use because it is not as tightly supported as it should be, and as stated in other reviews, the fan is nothing more than a toy - it should either be improved or removed. Also, the problems with the dealer network and warranty ambiguity took a bit of shine off the transaction. Overall, however, we are well satisfied with the product - it is vastly superior to all the other recumbent exercisers we tried in showrooms. If the manufacturer will address the problems outlined above, they will have a superb product.

Th bike arrived with broken resistance adjustment module - had a lot of problems getting it fixed.
Otherwise OK , handlebars a little to low and console could be closer to the seat.
